This is what I needed...

Scaffolding
by Seamus Heaney

Masons, when they start upon a building,
Are careful to test out the scaffolding;

Make sure that planks won’t slip at busy points,
Secure all ladders, tighten bolted joints.

And yet all this comes down when the job’s done
Showing off walls of sure and solid stone.

So if, my dear, there sometimes seem to be
Old bridges breaking between you and me

Never fear. We may let the scaffolds fall
Confident that we have built our wall.

I am taken aback by the timing of this poem sent to me by a dear, dear friend. Roxie, muah! :) Funny how the things that you said to yourself not so long ago have been written many many years ago by someone who didn't know you existed. Or that it's sent to you by someone who didn't know how well you could connect with it when they clicked on the "Sent" button!

Serendipity - yet another time. And catharsis - who says you don't need it even when you don't anymore?

:)
